Qasim Riza Shaheen is a Manchester-based visual artist and writer who works across performance, installation, film, photography, and with audience as participants. His work explores various ways of sharing memories and enters the fragile architecture of the space between people. He is currently Associate Artist at HOME, a centre for international art, theatre and film in Manchester.
His work has been exhibited and programmed widely, including at SPILL Festival of Performance, London; Brighton International Festival; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Liverpool Biennial; Arnolfini, Bristol; National Review of Live Art in Glasgow, Scotland; La Boral, Gijon; Trouble Festival, Les Halles, Brussels; CityArts and Project Arts Centre in Dublin; Corona Cork Film Festival in Ireland; Twelve Gates Arts in Philadelphia, USA; and Alhamra National Gallery in Lahore, Pakistan, where he was invited as an international resident artist and subsequently as an Associate Professor at the prestigious National College of Arts in Lahore and Islamabad.
Shaheen has had numerous acquisitions made on his work by museums, galleries and private collectors.
